Dexter’s are normally a very gentle breed with a sweet and curious disposition. The style with which we manage our herd helps to maintain this natural trait. Our goal is to preserve the small farm experience that your grandparents enjoyed, so we do not produce a large number of animals, thus availability may be limited. Though we choose not to show our Dexter’s, they are show quality.
Here at Brooks Farm, we do not raise pets, these animals are for the small farmer who wants to raise healthy safe meat or milk for home use. Our animals are never penned or fed a diet that is primarily grain just to make fast weight gains. They spend their lives in pasture eating grass as cattle should, and are never handled roughly. Our interest truly is in quality meat and milk for the use of families that want a healthy, simpler lifestyle.
